Popular Nigerian writer and founder of Diary of a Naija Girl, Ifedayo Agoro has shared on the microblogging platform X, how she found out a man she used to be in a relationship with had been locked up in American prison for eight years.
Describing how they met, Ife stated that the man had offered to drive her home from work one day and from there, they clicked.
Narrating her experience in several tweets, she mentioned that the man who was 47 years old at that time was way older than her.
Adding that, the reason why she chose to hang out with him was because her brother-in-law knew him in person.
The whole treats and trips however turned sour after the man whom she referred to as Ken obliged her to wear exposing outfits whenever she was around him.
Uncomfortable with his demands, she stopped wearing the revealing outfit, which annoyed the man.
In one section of the tweet she wrote; “He would shout at me on the phone, tell me how he wanted me to get out of poverty and make me a United States citizen but I was not obedient and I was wasting time like a child.”
She decided to stop speaking to him, after he spoke to her in such a manner, but finds out recently that the man had been locked up in a prison in America for marital rape and domestic violence.
Ife also added that his victim was a young lady he met in Nigeria and flew abroad for a better life.
