Students of Gateway Polytechnic, Ogun state, have gotten people talking online after they organized a fake wedding in the school.
A video circulating on social media shows scenes from the fake wedding, with the students dressed in different colorful outfits, similar to a real wedding.
Though the idea behind the ‘wedding’ is currently not clear, the students went above and beyond to simulate a traditional Yoruba wedding ceremony.
In the viral video, the students decorated a hall and reserved a special chair for the fake bride and groom. The bride was also spotted dancing with her friends with her face covered with a veil.
The fake groom and his groomsmen were also captured bowing in front of the bride’s family, as if they were asking her hand in marriage.
They also printed fake dollar bills with the fake bride and groom’s pictures on them.

The video has sparked mixed reaction on social media, with many praising the students for pulling the event off.
In other news, an abroad-based young woman has recently taken to social media to announce her intention to marry a man from her village, with the plan of eventually taking him abroad.
The young lady, who goes by the username @hope2cruddy on TikTok, shared that her mother has expressed a strong desire for her to marry a man from their village. Read here
