Reports have emerged on how Rihanna almost went bankrupt in 2008.
At the time there was a huge rumor circulating the media that Rihanna almost went bankrupt, with only $20,000 to her name and mounting debt, but it was quickly swept under the rug.
Due to the situation of things then, Rihanna not only left her longtime manager, but she also sued her accountants for bad business management.
And then in the year 2009, TMZ revealed that truly Rihanna almost went bankrupt, because she took bad business advice from her accountants.
They allegedly told her that it was okay to buy a $7 million home without notifying her that her moneymaker, the “Last Girl On Earth Tour,” was actually losing money.
In 2014 she managed to win a court case against her former accountant Peter Gounis of Berdon and was awarded a $10 million settlement.
11 years after she was with just $20,000 in her account, Rihanna bounced back harder than ever and has subsequently become the wealthiest female musician in the world with an accumulated worth of $600 million.
This fortune was not only accumulated through her music career but also through her beauty brand Fenty Beauty and recently established fashion house Fenty Mansion.
According to Forbes the multi-hyphenate acquired much of her wealth through her partnership with French luxury conglomerate LVMH which she launched her beauty cosmetics line with in 2017.
