Nigerian influencer and businesswoman, Ama Reginald, has complained bitterly about the challenges of running a business in Nigeria.
Taking to Snapchat, Ama stated that the fluctuating exchange rate is already bad enough, and now she is facing issues with Nigerian customs.
She mentioned that her goods have been held for days even though they have arrived in the country. According to her, customs is withholding the goods in an attempt to increase the clearance fee and make more money.
Ama also cited that the clearance fee has been increased three times this year already, despite being the second month in the year.
Overwhelmed by all the challenges, Ama said she is frustrated and tired as managing a business in Nigeria is draining. She, however, noted that she won’t give up and will keep showing up for her business.

“Running a business in this country is draining. I mean with the current situation of dollar, custom is still looking for a way to further frustrate us. Tell me why my shipment has been in Nigeria since Thursday and customs has refused to release the Shipment because they’re looking for a way to further increase the clearing fee. Mind you customs has increased clearing fee 3 times this year already. Ama is honestly tired and frustrated but it is well. I won’t ever stop getting up! You shouldn’t too.”
