A Ugandan politician, Hon. Evelyn Anite, has left many in shock after she revealed the reason she repossessed an ambulance she donated to her district following her election loss in 2021.
Hon. Anite, who is the current State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization in Uganda, confirmed this surprising revelation while responding to a tweet by AfricaFactsZone.
She expressed her gratitude to the popular blog page for raising the issue and admitted that she reclaimed the ambulance because her constituents didn’t vote for her. She further stated that she doesn’t regret her action.
The politician tweeted,
“@AfricaFactsZone, Thank you for bringing this up. First, it’s true I took back my ambulance & I have no apologies for that. Why did I do it? It’s because they didn’t vote for me. So did you expect me to walkaway with nothing? Galatians 6:7 A man reaps what he sows.”

Prior to her confirmation, her best friend had debunked the news, stating that the politician did not reclaim the ambulance.
“Fake news. my best friend @HonAniteEvelyn can not do that. She has done more for her region than most of politicians from that region”, she tweeted.
In reaction, the politician boldly stated that she took back the vehicle and she is proud of her action.
She wrote,
“My dear, I actually did it, and I am very proud of my action. Once they said go away, I packed all my belongings and left them. now I hear people crying as if I was the first one to call it quites. The Bible says the wage of sin is death.”
