Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has asked fast-rising music star Asake for a collaboration.
The Zeh Nation boss made this known while sharing a screenshot of his chat with the YBNL signee on his Instagram story.
“Boss, let’s work on something. I believe in you, Mr. Money.” Portable told Asake
Responding to Portable’s request for collaboration, Asake wrote, “My bro, I believe in you, too. At the right time, everything will align.”
Asake’s response, however, has spurred reactions from social media users.
Reacting, a Twitter user @alt3boy wrote, “At the right time everything go align, that right time fit no come.”
Another fan of the “Omo Ope” star @Badboykola1, wrote, “Asake get sense to avoid wahala that’s the best reply.”
@Mustaph37470729, “Portable should have gone far. But the guy wahala too much. They are scared to work with him.”
@owajoe, Nothing is private with potable. na wa o.”
@_Mrjaf, “Just like telling you I’ll call u when ur phone rings. Wisdom no go kill Asake. Baba no want wahala.”
Just recently, fast-rising Nigerian singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro publicly stated his position towards recording a song with Portable.
In a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, Spyro strongly asserted that Portable is the one musician he will never collaborate with.
He mentioned their divergent musical tastes as the main deterrent, implying that if he wrote a song for Portable, he wouldn’t be able to play it well.
“Not because I have an issue with him but because our paths just don’t cross. Our kind of music don’t align. He won’t be able to deliver the kind of music I will write for him because it’s not its style,” he said.
When asked if he thinks Portable is a good singer, Spyro stated, “I think Portable is good. It’s intentional when people do the type of music portable does.”
