Popular Ghanaian socialite, Shugatiti, has filed a lawsuit against popular clergyman, Frank Gogo and two others over alleged defamation.
The clergyman had, during an interview, alleged that Shugatiti, who owns a restaurant, uses extraterrestrial powers to lure customers into purchasing her cuisine and that she is possessed by a marine spirit. He also claimed that anyone who visited her restaurant would be possessed.
“She is possessed by a marine spirit, and all those who visit her restaurant will end up being possessed. She is a queen in the realms of the spirit. Anyone who has eaten in her restaurant and is a woman has been possessed,” he said.
Shugatiti has, however, denied these claims and filed a lawsuit, requesting that the court declare the statements made by Gogo and his associates defamatory and seeking general damages for defamation of character.
She stated that she is prepared to face Gogo in court if he can provide evidence to support his allegations.
In the court document, it was stated that Gogo alleged that the “plaintiff is a demon-possessed person of questionable character and means and hence it is dangerous for ordinary right-thinking members of society to be associated, acquainted or have any contact whatsoever with the dentist.”
Sharing the court document on her Instagram page, she wrote, “Members of Frank Gogo (Ekatso) church, inform your pastor to meet me in court to prove that I’m a demon of the sea with evidence of entering the sea.”
