The lead pastor of the church, Harvesters International Christian Center, Pastor Bolaji Idowu advised his members in a recent teaching on the issue of lending friends money.
He states that lending people money never ends well thereby ruining the relationship. Most debtors fail to give back the money they were lent.
Pastor Bolaji says that he cannot be disciplined enough with his cash and still lend his savings to someone who will find it hard to pay back. So instead of risking and losing friends over the problems of getting money back, he would rather not give with the intention of getting it back.
He however states that he would give what he has for free, to his friend who is in financial constraints but will not lend what he cannot let go of.
Many people agreed with this view as they also recount their experience in lending people money which later never turned out well. Read on:
@GoldenOyoBoy: The funniest part is that people will not get the part he said “give them what you can afford but don’t expect them to pay back”
@Amy_beke: He didn’t lie, ruined a friendship
@Kingabasalito: If they are your real pals. Borrow them but don’t expect them to return it. If they did fine, if they didn’t fine
@elmannygram: Love pastors that speak the truth.
@otakerioghenero: Indeed it never get well
