UK-based Nigerian educationist Dipo Awojide has warned against condemning Nigeria while describing his experience of waiting up to 48 hours to see a specialist in the UK.
The media personality addressed his reasons for remaining silent during the 2023 elections on Twitter, where many had looked to him for opinion.
Dipo Awojide explained his silence by saying he was ill and had trouble finding a specialist in the UK to take care of his medical requirements.
He wrote;
“Was sick after my birthday dinner. Fell down in the toilet because I was so weak. I banged my nose and passed out. Had to be revived. This picture was taken 10 days after. Twitter mob was waiting for me to comment on Nigerian politics. While I was fighting for my health 😂😂.
I couldn’t see a GP in 48 hours. I would have been able to see a Doctor in Nigeria within 12 hours. Stop demonising Nigeria 🇳🇬. Things can be better in Nigeria 🇳🇬 but we are dealing with a lot in the UK 🇬🇧 as well 😉,” he added.
