A Nigerian woman on social media laments over the expensive bride price list her brother-in-law received for the preparation of his marriage. The entire family is now upset because of the outrageous list his fiancée family sent.
The woman explained that her brother-in-law after receiving the bride price list sent it to the family group, the list has made everyone angry because of the amount of expensive items listed.
She was extremely surprised as the list comprise thirteen steps with expensive items that are to be provided in doubles. The family has to abide by the steps before the marriage take place.
According to the woman, she thought Imo state has the most expensive and long list for bride price but her brother-in-law is from Rivers state and also speaks Igbo. She exclaimed that with the present economy where commodities are very expensive and the price for food items keeps soaring high.
She wrote;
“I cropped some parts because yunno, this thing has step one to thirteen !!! Big big things”
The Nigerian woman had attached the picture of the list to her post and Internet users seem surprised with the long list filled with expensive items. Many suggests the lady’s family should be considerate because of the economy and also make the list negotiable.
