Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has yesterday, said the recession being experienced currently in the country and other parts of the world is ordained by God.

“The only solution to this is for us to show piety and repent. It is ordained by God”, the President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) said.

Sultan Abubakar spoke in Sokoto yesterday as activities for his 10th coronation anniversary commenced with the distribution of items.

Items worth N9 million were shared out to 270 widows, orphans and other indigent persons at a ceremony organised by the state Zakkat and Endowment Committee.

The monarch also admonished the adherents of Islam and Christianity to live their lives according to the dictates of their Holy Scriptures.

    • O ye men of little knowledge! listen! There isn’t anything like muslim God or Christian God, there’s only ONE God, ALLAH. What you call Him in your tribe doesn’t really matter. As muslims, we believe in that God described in the bibele as the God of Abraham, the God of moses, the God of Jacob; there’s none except Him. As muslims, we believe in the prophethood of Jesus (peace be upon him). As muslims, we believe that God (Allah) created all things and tests his creatures to know those who are true believers. I want digress a little to address the topic of discuss “christian God is good while muslim God is bad”. It is obvious that most Christians only read the bible but do not understand it’s contents or perhaps get the wrong message as interpreted by their pastors. Here is what God says in the book of Isaiah 45:7 ” I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things”. This is a verse of the bible, by your “good” God, how do you explain this? am waiting…I seek the knowledge.

  62. The very only Almighty God I know, can never be an author of evil mishap. He’s a loving and caring father, He doesn’t like seeing us suffering. The only thing I know is that He can allow certain things to happen in order to test our faith in him and also to encourage us and make us strong in times of challenges.
