Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has shared the message she received from her aunt advising her to give a man a chance and possibly get married.
The 39-year-old TV host took to her Insta story to share a screenshot of the text message, noting that it’s one of the unique characteristics of being a Nigerian.
According to her, extended families will always encourage and sometimes pressure one to get married or get into a relationship.
In the chat, her aunt sent her well wishes for the new year and suggested she give a man a chance in her life, instead of remaining unmarried.
“I‘m Nigerian, of course I have aunties texting me about marriage. My aunty is so cute,” she captioned the post.
Toke Makinwa was formerly married to her ex-husband, Maje Ayide, in 2014. However, they parted ways in 2015 due to allegations of infidelity on Ayida’s part.
The marriage was legally dissolved by a Lagos High Court in 2017.
