7. AFANG SOUP.
Afang Soup, similar to the Edikang Ikong soup, is native to the Efiks people of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states of Nigeria but is enjoyed by all Nigerians.
It is highly nutritious as the soup consists mainly of greens (vegetables). Afang Soup is prepared with a generous quantity of Water leaves and the wild herbal Okazi leaves.
In spite of it origin from the South-East of Nigeria, Afang soup is enjoyed across state borders in the country and also in Diaspora. The meal takes about an hour to prepare, and is often served with fufu and Garri(Eba).
