The Taylor Swift fandom in Brazil mourns yet another loss as a second fan tragically passes away.
Gabriel Milhomem Santos, a 25-year-old who had traveled to attend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show, was fatally stabbed just before the concert at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
The devastating incident occurred on Sunday morning, Nov. 19, as Gabriel rested on the renowned Copacabana beach.
He was approached by three assailants and stabbed during an assault, shattering his dreams of witnessing his idol perform.
Gabriel’s family shared that he will be laid to rest in his hometown in the western state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
In a tribute, he will be dressed in the clothes he had specially made for Taylor’s concert, symbolizing his love and dedication to the pop star.
Described as cheerful, affectionate, and highly diligent, Gabriel had traveled from Belo Horizonte to Rio de Janeiro to fulfill his dream of attending Taylor Swift’s concert.
This heartbreaking news follows the recent passing of 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides, who went into cardiac arrest during the concert on Friday night, Nov. 17, and later died at the hospital.
While Taylor Swift has yet to comment on Gabriel’s untimely death, she took to Instagram to share an emotional message following Ana Clara’s passing, expressing her condolences and acknowledging the deep impact her fans have on her.
