The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the arrest of popular clergyman, Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis Church, Abuja, over his ‘inciting sermon’.
While preaching in his church last Sunday, Pastor Enenche, who is solidly behind Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, expressed his displeasure with the conduct of the presidential election on Saturday, February 25.
He strongly condemned the reports of rigging, result manipulations, intimidation, child voting, and other issues recorded during the election.
Pastor Enenche, who spoke angrily, warned that every attempt to scuttle the will of the people will produce unimaginable consequences on the culprits.
“Do the wrong thing and go down in history with honour and dignity, or do the wrong thing and go down in shame, ignominy, and infamy forever,” he concluded.
In a new development, the ruling party has ordered DSS to apprehend and restrain Pastor Enenche for spreading ‘hate speech’ and ‘inciting’ violence with his statement.
During their press conference on Monday, the APC spokesperson said,
“We note with utmost concern those inciting comments and call to violence by some spokespersons for the opposition, especially those from the Peoples Democratic Party. We are particularly concerned and call on the State Security Services and the Nigeria Police Force to immediately restrain persons such as Dino Melaye, Dele Momodu and a certain Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis Church from their clear call to violence.”
