Award winning Nigerian singer, Ayodej Balogun otherwise known as Wizkid, has acknowledged a beautiful portrait of him drawn by a Nigerian artist.
The artist, Amos Osemwengie, made a portrait of the legendary singer which according to him documents the singer’s star project, Made In Lagos, and fortunately this got Wizkid’s attention.
The artist shared a video and photos of the beautiful piece on Instagram and took his time to explain the concept behind the painting.
According to him,
“We can think about this piece as my first attempt at infusing both art forms. By creating a traditional visual art of one of Africa’s leading music star Wizkid(Big Wiz). Documenting what i believe to be his most solid project yet “Made In Lagos”.
“As inspired by such a gorgeous body of work which encompasses the embodiment of Afrobeats with a tease of jazz, reggae and soul music all through the entire project i have infused every element i find exciting to the album and also every visual element which i find describes the Artist’s artistry”.
On sighting the beautiful work of art, Wizkid encouraged the Nigerian artist by sharing photos of the portrait on his Insta-stories and later took to the artist’s comment to show his interest in the piece.
“Want this! Love! ❤️”, he wrote.
