In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended a Lagos big boy, Chike Nosa Agada, on charges of an alleged N2 billion fraud.
The 37-year-old suspect, hailing from Udi LGA of Enugu State, was captured during a sting operation conducted at a lavish residence in the upscale Bourdillion area of Ikoyi, Lagos.
Chike Nosa Agada, an unlicensed foreign exchange dealer, had been declared wanted by the EFCC on October 11, 2023.
The Commission accused him of engaging in fraudulent activities, including obtaining money by false pretenses and stealing by conversion to the tune of N2 billion. Acting on credible intelligence, the EFCC operatives swiftly moved in to apprehend the suspect.
During the operation, a mobile device was recovered from him which may serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
The EFCC has stated that the suspect will face charges in court once the investigations are concluded.
