Nollywood filmmaker, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike has taken to her page to disclose why she gave up on her fight for a better Nigeria.
According to Ifemeludike, she used to put everything about herself on hold just because she wanted to see a better Nigeria. However due to her activism, she began ”loosing it” and she realized the people she was fighting for are not ready. She then decided to let go of the struggle.
Her post reads ;
I used to go outta my way to play big mother Nigeria, thinking I could help in my little capacity to change the status quo???.. I once left my job, career and entire life to go do activism at abuja with #ourmumudondo ? ( chai I don suffer for this life sha), I put everything about me on hold just because I wanted to see a better Nigeria.. I started loosing it, it’s was so inconveniencing leaving my comfortable home at lekki to go attach with a friend at kado, abj… I did all these because of my passion to contribute my quota to nation building but at some point a friend said to me “chi you need to empower yourself first before you help others, besides they people you’re fighting for are not ready!!! Nna eeh sense entered me??? …

The truth is, you can’t pour from an empty cup, you need to build yourself spiritually, physically,financially emotionally and psychologically before you can effectively impact positively in any cause or struggle… I’m on my journey to self actualization and capacity building, I will join the struggle again when Nigerians are ready, for now let’s all watch big brother Nigeria, contribute money for mediocrity while our future disappears right in our very before… someone will surely suffer the consequences of negligence, docility and irresponsibility…
