Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, reportedly told a coroner’s court sitting in Lagos that he doesn’t trust his son’s wife, Wunmi.
According to The Nation, Mr. Aloba testified during the coroner’s inquest into his son’s death on Wednesday, October 25.
He told the Coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that he and his son lived together for 18 years, and his son left home at the legal age to live with his former record label boss, Naira Marley, where he assisted him while pursuing his music career. Mr. Aloba explained that he didn’t know the exact house in which his son was living with his former boss.
Speaking further, he mentioned that his son’s landed properties were in the custody of his mother-in-law, as his son used to inform him about his possessions held by his wife and her family.
Additionally, he accused the wife of occasionally putting sleeping pills in his son’s food to buy time to sleep with his son’s colleague in Marley’s house.
His words,
“I shared 18 years together with my son, and he had no record of any terminal disease. I only took him to a chemist when he was 16 for treatment of rashes. I don’t trust his wife. My son told me she always put sleeping pills in his noodles and went to another room to sleep with another signee in the same house. Mobhad made efforts to reconcile me with his mother.”
He also told the coroner that his deceased son gifted him a car after reconciling with his mother.
