Former US President, Barack Obama has shared his summer playlist for the year 2022 and popular Nigerian music superstars, Wizkid and Davido, were noticeably absent.
On Tuesday, Obama took to his social media page to share the playlist of 35 songs and Nigerians quickly trooped to his page to check the Nigerian artistes that made the list.
Singers, Burna Boy, Tems, BNXN formerly known as Buju and Pheels, were on the revered list with their hit tracks, Last Last, Vibe Out and Finesse respectively.
Obama posted the list with the caption.
“Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies—it’s an example of how music really can bring us all together.
Here’s what I’ve been listening to this summer. What songs would you add?”

In other news, Tems has been credited as a songwriter on American singer, Beyonce’s forthcoming album.
On Wednesday, July 20, Queen Bee finally unveiled the tracklist for her album “Renaissance”, which is scheduled for release on June 29.
The album which is the singer’s seventh studio album has 16 tracks, including previously released club banger “Break My Soul” serving as the sixth track.
In the list of songwriters on the project, Nigeria’s own singer, Tems, was credited as one of the songwriters on the tenth track ‘Move’ under her full name, Temilade Openiyi.
The “Essence” crooner who has been doing exploits on the global stage has now worked with America’s finest singers, Beyonce and Future.
