The Anambra state chapter of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have arrested a woman for the murder of her housemaid in the state.
The woman is said to have beaten her maid to death over an undisclosed reason then dumped her corpse in a bush.
After she was nabbed by NAPTIP operatives, she took them to the site where she abandoned the lifeless body of the deceased.
Speaking in a video serving rounds online, the woman confessed to beating the child till she started convulsing and she rushed her to a hospital but sadly, she was pronounced dead on arrival.
In a bid to get rid of the corpse, the woman said she dumped it in a bush.
Speaking in Igbo, she said: “I beat her and she started convulsing so I took her to Kings (hospital). Getting there, she died, so I threw her body here.”
The decomposing body of the maid was also captured in the video. The woman has been taken into custody and will be charged to court.

The incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday, October 2, 2022, after the deceased confronted a suspected cultist, Goru Emerald Edirin, for harassing his pregnant wife, Toyin.
