A 20-year-old Nigerian footballer, identified as Ado Bala Hadi, has reportedly slumped and died during a home match between his club, CD Madridejo FC, and SP Cabanillas in Spain.
It was gathered that Hadi Ado Bala, a former Jigawa United defender, collapsed for no apparent reason in the 39th minute of the ill-fated match.
Medical personnel at the Municipal Stadium in Toledo were said to have rushed to his aid, but efforts to revive him proved abortive as he was eventually pronounced dead.
The tragic demise of the promising Nigerian football player was confirmed in a statement on the club’s official website.
“CD Madridejos footballer Ado Bala Hadi , 20, died this Sunday afternoon while playing the game against Sporting Cabanillas, at the Madridejos municipal field (Toledo).
As reported by the 112 emergency and emergency service, the accident took place at 5:13 pm, when the player began to s¥ffer seizures and 112 was notified, which activated a UVI, an emergency doctor and a life support ambulance, although the young man has died in the field.” The statement read.
The deceased’s eldest brother, Misbau Ado Bala, who spoke to Daily Trust on behalf of the family, described the death as a loss not only to the family but to Nigerians and the world of football.
