Nollywood actress and film producer, Yvonne Jegede has tendered a public apology to May Edochie and other women after applauding Yul Edochie for marrying a second wife on a popular podcast.
Speaking in the interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the actress recounted how she ended the marriage with her celebrity husband, Olakunle Fawole a.k.a Abounce after 10 years of courtship.
Meanwhile, Yvonne had confirmed that Yul Edochie had done nothing wrong marrying his second wife, Judy Austin. She berates ladies for criticizing the actor’s decision as many of them are children from polygamous homes.
Following the release of the podcast, social media has been set abuzz with fans and followers slamming the actress for her comment while recounting how May Edochie lost her son and marriage.
The 40-year-old actress took to her Instagram to apologize to May Edochie as she claims her intention was to buttress important societal issues reflected in her new movie.
She also added that her remarks at the interview were to review polygamy in a cultural context and how it is being practiced in modern society. The actress has extended her apologies to women and children undergoing pain due to polygamy.
