Nigerian Entertainers, Zlatan Ibile and DJ Cuppy have been trending on social media for more than 48 hours because of the infamous ‘beef’ between them following the dispute over unpaid royalties for their hit track – Gelato.
Information from Zlatan’s corner hinted he was not compensated for his effort in ‘GELATO’ and it was for this reason he decided to block her on social media.
However, new reports published on Twitter by Journalist, Joey Akan contradicts the former assertion.
His Tweets read ;
New information says Cuppy paid for Zlatan’s flights and accommodation.
Turns out, the charity performance in Abuja was a transactional repayment for an earlier deed by Cuppy.
According to my source, two weeks prior, Cuppy had performed for free at Zlatan and Naira’s show.
She had flown to Abuja with her team and her equipment, where she supported them with an FOC performance. She handled her logistics, and did it for her friendly colleague.
The fundraiser was a professional Goodwill repayment of that deed. He was catered to. And logistics handled
Over 200 people were flown into Abuja for the event. Kwesi Arthur came from Ghana, Skuki and a few others. Everyone was flown, and their hotels were covered.
Why is there a problem then? “Entitlement,” I’m told. “He’s refusing to stick to what was agreed.”
Also interesting to note here that Zlatan Ibile and Cuppy both share the same lawyer, Yemisi. The same person handles all their legal and financial agreements, and there’s a level of fairness expected when it comes to monetary agreements.
